THE AGE OF MASSES

The age we live in is the era of significant mass changes. The thoughts, emotions, cultures, and opinions of the masses are undergoing profound transformations, illuminated by the light of science. Just a few centuries ago (which might seem short in the context of an individual's lifespan but is remarkably brief in the history of civilizations), monarchies ruled. The masses were often uneducated and had no say in governance. They were managed merely to prevent them from starving, almost like prisioners.

However, this is changing. People are slowly beginning to claim rights in governance, although you could argue that politicians still manipulate them like sheep. You're right in saying that. Remember that just a few centuries ago, kings didn't even bother trying to manipulate people because they didn't care about them. You may think that the foundation, rise and fall of civilizations, or even major events in worldwide management systems, are based on things like wars, famines, changes in people in government, and technological developments as in recent times, but the real change is the changes in the thoughts, beliefs and cultures of the masses. The reason why such great changes do not occur very often is that there is nothing more stable than the hereditary basis of the ideas of the masses. But once change begins, it becomes unstoppable.

We are currently in the midst of such a change. The masses are realizing their power. They will no longer bow down simply because someone comes from a noble family or because they possess wealth and power. The forms of governance by states have also changed. This shift in thought is beginning to influence companies as well. Even in companies like Google, while there may be top executives, decision-making power at the project level lies primarily with the people working on those projects.

More importantly, a new system known as DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) has been successful in managing small communities and companies. In this system, decisions are made through the votes of everyone in the community, not just a single leader. The full explanation of DAOs would require a book, so I won't delve into it here. Many companies and various communities are transitioning to this DAO system because people are increasingly aware of the power of the masses. They no longer want to be enslaved to a single individual just because they founded the company or community. They want to be free and to govern themselves. The self-governance of societies is a deep topic, one I won't presume to fully understand because it's beyond my knowledge.

We are still in the age of mass change. Only God knows what the future holds. We'll watch and see.
